Nowhere to Go in the Netherlands
Rapper Yes-R and Councilor Paul Depla
|
The website about young people and play is now available in Danish, Dutch and English. The Dutch campaign for the 10-15yearolds’ right to leisure and play was opened at a ceremony in cooperation with Jantje Beton and the Richard Krajicek Foundation. The objective was to show that young people need some space that does justice to what young people want.
The famous Dutch rapper Yes-R handed over the Nowhere to Go materials to councilor Paul Depla, Nijmegen, accompanied by a special version of his well-known Teenage rebellion-rap about the need for a place to go and be active together for both boys and girls.
Extract of The teenage rebellion rap! by Yes-R “(…) what is done now for the younger indeed little boys can play football, but what have the girls So I say this, and I'd rather have nothing town think and think along with the teenagers occasionally a party and some sports that is what we want before we grow old” |
