Digital play: Young Scientist Exhibition in Ireland
The annual Young Scientist Exhibition fair in Dublin had a designated "Teen Zone". It was a blend of the modern digital age with physical exertion, demonstrated in two playground attractions: BLOQX, a three-dimensional structure that is part sculpture and part climbing wall, was well used. So was ICON.
Over 1600 people, young as well as older, tried out the equipment. 400 users were especially observed. The average age of those was 13.5 years. They all expressed an overwhelming interest in a Teen Zone in their local area and had a very positive response to the ICON interactive equipment. Both genders liked the climbing experiences of BLOQX very much.
