Capacent Epinion survey on behalf of KOMPAN
The KOMPAN Play Institute initiated focus groups of 10–16-year-olds in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Denmark to talk about preferences for outdoor activity and play. The results form the basis of a quantitative survey of what Danish 13–16-year-olds want in terms of outdoor activity, conducted by Epinion Capacent on behalf of KOMPAN. Here, the majority of young people say they would like to be more active outdoors, but they prefer places within cycling distance. The majority believe there is a lack of outdoor spaces that encourage physical activity.

Research profile
An interdisciplinary approach is needed when it comes to the work of planning good outdoor areas. The KOMPAN Play Institute monitors research into the children and young peoples physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative development. We correlate the results to our own insights regarding function and design to ensure that these five areas are all taken into account. But not least, we ask the young people their opinion on playful outdoor activity.
